Servatii Pastry Shop is a local family-owned and operated business. Their story began four generations ago in Germany with George Gottenbusch who, after attending Germany’s most renowned baking school, opened Café Servatii in downtown Muenster. Now, decades later, three generations of German-American bakers have served Cincinnati and the surrounding area through Servatii Pastry Shop. Wilhelm Gottenbusch founded the first shop in Cincinnati in 1963. Since then, the business has grown into a successful Ohio chain with 13 locations in Cincinnati and its surrounding suburbs.
In Mason, Servatii Pastry Shop is located at 106 W. Main St. Here, you can find a large selection of pies, including key lime, lemon meringue, peach, among others. We especially love this long-time gem, because Servatii frequently supports important community causes like the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati, the Salvation Army, and other fundraisers. Find the catering menu on the Servatii website and also make sure to follow their Facebook page to keep up with the community-based activities they are currently supporting.
Adesso coffee shop at 125 E. Main St. in Mason serves two types of pie from the Crackling Crust Micro Bakery in Cincinnati. Enjoy a delicious hand pie made with locally-sourced apples and whole-grain, all-butter crust with your favorite espresso drink. We recommend a Cafe Macchiato. If you’re more in the mood for savory flavors, Adesso also serves Crackling Crust’s delicious deep-dish veggie quiche, made with farm eggs, organic cream, and seasonal veggies. Try it paired with a Turmeric Ginger Latte, and you won’t be sorry!
Check the Adesso website often, since they support local producers and their menu is seasonal. They also host live music, classes, and tastings at their beautiful location.

The Golden Lamb in Lebanon, Ohio serves a shepherd’s pie that’s to die for! We think it’s the lamb stock reduction that does the trick, but honestly, with roasted mushrooms, garlic, and pearl onions, how could you go wrong? And what’s best is the Golden Lamb also has dessert pies on the menu, so you could take care of your sweet tooth after your delicious Classic Shepherd’s Pie. You won’t want to miss their Pecan-Chocolate Pie with salted caramel sauce.
Find the Golden Lamb at 27 S. Broadway. They are open every day for lunch and dinner, and they even have an inn where you could stay. Study the menu online to place an order for pick up at their main entrance or visit the online ordering app.
Bonus: Ohio Shops Specializing in All Sorts of Pies
This next pie shop, now housed inside a local church in Madeira, Ohio, started off as a family’s project in 2017 to raise funds for a local ministry with a global reach. We love this mission-driven Ohio business because they are still giving back to their community to help families and children who could use some help facing difficulties. Unfortunately, they are not delivering to Mason, but a 20-minute drive to Saint Paul Community United Methodist Church will be totally worth it to enjoy any pie from Good Pie Y’all.
Aside from beautiful dessert pies like Pumpkin Streusel Pie and Sky-High Chocolate Pie, Good Pie Y’all has delectable savory pies like Broccoli Cheddar Pot Pie and pie-adjacent items, like lasagna and enchilada bakes. The date listed next to a product title on the website is the pick-up date. Their pie is so good that they have a waiting list for items that are sold out. To avoid having to sign up for the “pie standby“ list, plan ahead for holidays and visit their website often.
Last but not least, you have to check out O Pie O in Cincinnati. They have some pretty interesting items, like Bourbon Pecan Pie, Honey Vinegar Pie, and Bumble Berry Buttermilk Pie, to name a few. They also feature Quiche Lorraine and Quiche Florentine in their savory pie selection. You can order whole pies in advance between Thursday and Sunday by calling 513-371-1964. They have a dining room and patio open at 32 East 13th St., and they operate Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
