Honda offers the 2021 Civic sedan in five trims: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring. Every trim comes with C-shaped LED taillights with integrated LED light bars and a security system with remote entry and trunk release. Every trim but the LX gets a smart keyless entry with a walk-away auto-locking function, fog lights, body-color door handles, and a rear decklid spoiler.

The base model LX rolls on 16-inch wheels with full covers. The EX and EX-L feature 17-inch alloy wheels, and the Touring and Sport trims come with stylish 18-inch alloy wheels.

The LX and Sport trims feature two-speed intermittent windshield wipers, an integrated rear-window antenna, and body-colored power side mirrors. The LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L models come with projector-beam halogen headlights. The Touring trim upgrades to LED headlights and adds chrome trim to the door handles.

The EX and EX-L add heating to the side mirrors and variable speed intermittent wipers. In contrast, the Touring trim adds rain-sensing wipers, and its side mirrors come with heating and integrated LED turn signal indicators. The Sport trim features a chrome center exhaust port and a gloss-black spoiler. A one-touch power moonroof comes standard on the EX, EX-L, and Touring models.

Engine Options

Two engine options power the 2021 Civic Sedan lineup. The base LX and Sport trims use a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and 16 valves with intelligent variable electronically-controlled valve timing (i-VTEC) and multi-point fuel injection technology. Honda pairs this engine with a continuously variable transmission (M-CVT) and offers paddle shifters on the Sport trim for a more thrilling driving experience. This powertrain puts out 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque.

The EX, EX-L, and Touring models come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine and dual overhead cams and 16 valves with i-VTEC technology. These trims upgrade to a direct fuel injection system and the LL-CVT transmission with paddle shifters on the Touring trim only. This powertrain delivers 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque.

Every 2021 Civic has Honda’s Eco Assist system that helps you learn efficient driving habits. You also get a hill-start assist, remote start (every model but the LX), and an electric parking brake on every model.

Interior Comfort and Convenience

The LX and Sport trims come with automatic climate control. The EX, EX-L, and Touring models upgrade to a dual-zone automatic climate control system. Every Civic sedan comes with cruise control, power windows and door locks, a tilting/telescoping steering column, and one-touch turn signal indicators. You also get a center console with a convenient sliding armrest and storage compartment. Push-button start technology, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob come standard on every trim but the LX. An automatic dimming rear view mirror and the HomeLink remote system come standard on the EX-L and Touring models.

Every trim seats five people comfortably. The LX and Sport trim seats are manually adjustable, while the EX, EX-L, and Touring trims upgrade to an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and a four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat. Premium cloth upholstery comes standard on the LX, Sport, and EX trims. The EX-L and Touring models come with leather-trimmed seats. The EX, EX-L, and Touring models have heated front seats. The Touring trim adds heated rear outboard seats. The 60/40 split-folding back seat offers multiple cargo configurations.

In-Vehicle Technology

All your in-vehicle tech runs through the 7-inch display audio screen with electrostatic touch capability and a knob and hard keys for primary controls. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capability come standard on every trim but the LX. Now you can sync your smartphones for hands-free operation. Using intuitive voice commands, you can access your favorite apps, download navigation information, make calls, and more. You get SiriusXM and an HD radio system on the EX, EX-L, and Touring trims. An upgraded 450-watt premium 10-speaker sound system with a subwoofer comes with the Touring model.

Every Civic model but the LX comes with Honda Link, an app that keeps you connected to your Civic like never before. You can remotely lock, unlock, or start your vehicle using Honda Link. You can also schedule service appointments with your Honda dealership. Honda Link allows you to locate your vehicle, monitor your speed, and call for roadside assistance.

Honda Sensing

Honda’s driver-assist suite, Honda Sensing, comes standard on every model. This suite of technology uses advanced optics and radar to monitor your Civic on the road, alerting you to potential hazards and even intervening with steering and emergency brake support if necessary. The suite includes a collision mitigation braking system that detects and alerts you to potential collisions with visual and audio cues. If you fail to react, the system will engage emergency braking to help mitigate or avoid an accident.

A road departure mitigation system tracks your Civic within marked lanes. When the system detects an unintentional drift, it alerts you. Should you become distracted and not react to the alerts, the system will apply steering correction to return you to your lane. The system will engage emergency braking to prevent you from leaving the road altogether.

An adaptive cruise control system with a low-speed follow helps keep you at a preset speed and following distance while in traffic. When traffic ahead slows, the system will automatically slow you down, even to a complete stop. When the way ahead clears, the system returns you to your preset interval.
