The interior design of the 2023 Honda Odyssey is extremely clean and bright. Its upper console is black, but the lower half is the same color as the upholstery, a bright white standard. The steering wheel includes a set of cruise control and infotainment interface buttons, so the driver can keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel as they change settings. The infotainment center is inclined toward the top of the main console, giving it a far more high-tech and seamless look than the more common protruding tablet configuration.

You can alternate between the Odyssey’s driving modes with the push of a main console button. You can also use the console to shift gears. This is a remarkable departure from a traditional vehicle design, which usually incorporates only a gear-shifting stick between the seats or on a stick attached to the steering wheel. The main console also includes a set of ports for maximum device compatibility. They include a 120-volt AC power outlet, a traditional cigar-lighter-style insert port, and a USB charging port.

An entertainment system is set into the 2023 Odyssey’s ceiling, so the second and third-row passengers can enjoy streaming videos during commutes. A wireless smartphone charging unit is set into the top of the center console behind the cup holders. The 2023 Honda Odyssey comes with a standard shop vacuum set into one side of the vehicle, so it’s easy to keep clean.

Comfort and Convenience Features and Options

This three-row minivan seats up to eight people with your choice of cloth or leather upholstery. The first row comes with 12-way power-adjustable heated seats with lumbar supports. The second row can be configured with either a pair of captain’s chairs that can be shifted to grant easy access to the rear row or a bench seat for three.

Other standard comfort features include front and rear HVAC systems with separate controls, vinyl door trim, dual-zone front automatic air conditioning, armrests for every seating row, a manually tilting and telescoping steering column, a driver’s footrest, and reclining 60/40 split-folding seats. Comfort options include piano black and metal look door trims, a heated leather steering wheel, front seats with position memory settings, and leather and leatherette combination upholstery.

The 2023 Honda Odyssey’s convenience features include remote keyless entry, automatic locking doors, one-touch up-and-down power windows, seatback storage pockets, overhead console storage, a pair of 12-volt DC power outlets, proximity key vehicle access, and a day-night rearview mirror. Optional convenience features include an upgrade to three 12-volt DC power outlets, a HomeLink garage door transmitter, extra seatback storage pockets, a conversation mirror setup for the back rows, and an auto-dimming version of the day-night rearview mirror.

Entertainment Features and Options

The 2023 Honda Odyssey comes packed with entertainment features and options that will ensure an eventful ride every time. Standard entertainment features include a seven-speaker sound system with a 160-watt subwoofer, speed-sensitive volume compensating radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, a pair of front-row LCD monitors, and voice-activated My Honda Music with internal memory. SiriusXM satellite radio requires a subscription fee after the trial period ends. The standard infotainment center includes an 8-inch touch screen with HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice-to-text programming suites.

The speaker system can be upgraded to include 11 speakers and a far more powerful 550-watt subwoofer. Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, MP3 reader, voice-recognizing Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation, and CabinTalk in-van PA system programming can be added to the infotainment system, and its screen can be upgraded to 10.2 inches. A Blu-Ray player can also be added to the rear entertainment system. And the radio can be upgraded to HD quality with an enhanced digital signal processor.

Comprehensive Safety Features

The 2023 Odyssey is a high-safety minivan heavily loaded with features and options engineered to maximize occupant protection. These features include a tire-specific low-pressure warning system, curtain airbags for each seat row, a blind-spot information system, a backup camera, a vehicle stability assist system, rear child safety locks, forward collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep alert and assistance, and a cross-traffic monitoring system.

A front and rear parking sensor suite is optional. Honda’s inclusion of all these standard features at every trim level is admirable because none of them are locked behind higher trims with higher prices. Those trim levels include the EX, EX-L, Sport, Touring, and Elite versions. The side beams of the cabin are reinforced to better handle direct impacts.

An Expansive and Customizable Cabin Area

The cabin of the 2023 Honda Odyssey is extremely roomy and customizable. One or both of the rear seat benches can be folded all the way down into the vehicle’s floor, making it possible to maximize cargo space or passenger capacity as needed. The 2023 Odyssey has 32.8 cubic feet of cargo space with all seats up, 140.7 cubic feet with the back row folded down, and 144.9 cubic feet with both rear rows folded down. This area can hold a maximum of 1,493 pounds of cargo thanks to the van’s hefty trailing-arm strut suspension system.

Its cabin headroom measures 40.7 inches in the front row, 39.5 inches in the second, and 38.3 inches in the third. Its cabin legroom measures 40.9 inches in the front and the center row and 38.1 inches in the back row. These measurements beat most of the Odyssey’s competitors’ measurements handily.
