Valley’s Edge Snowtubing

Located in New Paris, Ohio, Valley’s Edge Snowtubing is about 55 miles from Mason. They offer affordable family fun for all ages. When there’s no snow on the ground, this snow tubing locale makes its own artificial fluff so you can still enjoy time away with family and friends. Valley’s Edge offers snow tubing for small groups all the way up to larger groups that want to celebrate a special event or spend some time together. 

If you’d like, you can rent the lodge at Valley’s Edge. Customers can bring in their own cake and ice cream for that birthday party or workplace event, but the lodge will provide all other food. Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center

Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center provides an outdoor space for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at the Riverbend Recreation Area near Findlay, Ohio. About 150 miles from Mason, this Hancock County park center is open on Saturday and Sunday from December through March. They offer cross-country ski and snowshoe equipment rentals as well as warm refreshments and a glowing fire inside one of the nearby shelters. 

The skiing trails are always groomed at Raccoon Run when there are good snow conditions. You can also take your equipment rentals over to the trails at Oakwoods Nature Preserve and Litzenberg Memorial Woods. If you’re coming to Raccoon Run with a group, you can reserve an all-day rental, so you’re guaranteed some equipment and trail space.

The Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center offers two exciting winter adventure events. Night skiing is available during January and February. Take in the peaceful atmosphere while cross-country skiing or snowshoeing along lit trails. There’s also a beginner cross-country ski workshop available most Saturday mornings. In this workshop, you’ll learn basic ski techniques, such as the correct way to use the equipment, how to glide and climb hills, how to get up when you fall, and how to turn around.
