2022 Honda HR-V Trims Overview
The newest Honda HR-V comes in four trim levels: the LX, the Sport, the EX, and the EX-L. Each trim adds a unique set of features to check out. Standard across all trims is Honda’s distinctive second-row Magic Seat that folds back to allow you plenty of extra cargo space. With this feature, you can store larger items that other mini-SUVs might struggle to fit safely. The extra cargo space makes the HR-V among the most practical in its class. Another Honda HR-V standard is a total of five seats, with plenty of leg room to accommodate taller passengers.
The Honda HR-V LX
Kicking off the HR-V lineup is the LX, the SUV’s base trim. The available Real Time All-Wheel Drive system helps ensure your vehicle is safe on the road, even in slick conditions. The LX comes with 17-inch silver alloy wheels, LED brake and daytime running lights to provide additional visibility. You can also get Halogen projector headlights and a multiangle rearview camera, offering a more comprehensive view of your surroundings.
Despite being the most basic trim, the LX still has a handful of notable features to help you keep your eyes on the road and stay connected with others. For example, it includes Bluetooth, a four-speaker audio system, a 5-inch color screen, and a remote entry system that enables you to lock and unlock your HR-V from a safe distance. Also included are intermittent windshield wipers with two available speeds, body-colored power side mirrors, and a reverse-linked intermittent rear window wiper that’s especially useful during particularly rainy or snowy weather.
The Honda HR-V Sport
Next in the HR-V’s line is the Sport, offering a variety of exclusive features and unique amenities. The Sport comes with 8-inch matte-black alloy wheels and includes a special sport mode with dual-mode paddle shifters, enabling you to shift up or down in power easily, adding additional versatility to your ride. Added fog lights help improve visibility, while an ungraded rearview camera makes it easier to back the vehicle up in a busy area successfully.
The HR-V Sport’s leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob help to increase comfort and give the interior more of a luxury look and feel, while roof rails provide a more aerodynamic appearance and offer additional cargo space for heavier, bulkier items. Body-colored rear roofline spoilers and gloss-black underbody roofline spoilers also help improve the vehicle’s looks and enhance its performance.
The Sport’s 7-inch touchscreen display has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, so you can access additional features, listen to world news, and keep your passengers entertained. It also includes two USB ports, so you can easily charge your devices on the go. HondaLink capabilities help enable you to remote-lock and unlock your doors and quickly locate the vehicle in a crowded parking lot. The speaker system also adds two extra speakers, for a total of six.
The Honda HR-V EX
The mid-level EX trim builds on the content in the LX trim and includes a host of signature safety features designed to make your journey even safer. Included are adaptive cruise controls that automatically adjust the speed of your vehicle and a collision mitigation braking system that can detect and prevent a full collision. If another vehicle stops short in front of you, the HR-V EX’s forward-collision warning system lets you know immediately. Its road departure mitigation system can also help you navigate roads, while the lane-keep assist function can steer you gently back into your lane.
Besides the impressive array of safety features, the EX adds heated front seats to ensure both driver and front-seat passengers are warm and comfortable. The one-touch power moonroof allows extra light into the vehicle easily and can help you breathe in some fresh air. Also included are satellite-radio capabilities and an HD radio that can pick up all your favorite stations, broadcasting in digital HD for enhanced sound quality.
Other features include heated side mirrors, a keyless entry with a push-button start for convenience, and variable intermittent windshield wipers, so you don’t have to worry about letting go of the steering wheel to adjust your wipers manually. It then prevents streaking and glares that can reduce your visibility. Similar to the LX, the EX also comes with 17-inch machine-finished alloy wheels.
The Honda HR-V EX-L
Last but far from least, the EX-L builds on the amenities included in the previous trims, adding an automatic-dimming rearview mirror to make driving at night even safer and protecting your eyes from the bright lights of another vehicle. Its interior design includes leather-trimmed seats and a touch-controlled moonroof for a more luxurious feel. The EX-L also has high-powered safety features, similar to the EX. For instance, the Walk Away Auto Lock automatically locks your HR-V as you leave the area, giving you additional peace of mind no matter where you’re parked.
If you’re looking for an HR-V with a state-of-the-art sound system, the EX-L may be the right car for you. Its six-speaker audio system comes with chrome speaker rings to ensure your speaker’s sound comes out strong and clear, plus better protects it against potential wear and tear. It also helps to improve amplification and make the sound appear even clearer, whether you’re listening to music or a podcast.
